Cured In Place Pipe

Localised CIPP
Point-lining® or patch lining as it is also referred to is the localised structural repair of non-pressure pipelines using a combination of specially made fibreglass and resin installed across the pipeline defect to restore structural reliability. Point-lining® is ideally suited where the host pipe is suffering cracks, tree roots, open or displaced joints and even damaged lined pipes.
The Point-Liner® system consists of a two component Polyurethane resin impregnated into a multi-layered fibreglass mat, specially designed for use in sewer environments. The resin will adhere to concrete, stoneware, VC pipe and PVC. It is installed into the pipeline following suitable water jet or robotic preparation and cleaning of the pipe, via special packers for installation at the pipeline defect location. Repair lengths are typically 600mm to 1200mm in length but can also be extended if necessary. The adhesion properties of the resin, which is also approved for use in drinking water environments, enable us to guarantee a leak proof repair with up to 10 metres hydrostatic pressure – ideal in water charged ground conditions.
The Point-Liner® system which we exclusively import from Germany has extensive product approvals locally and internationally and has been subject to a wide variety of performance tests confirming its attributes in terms of adhesion, abrasion resistance, non-shrinking and impact resistance. These are all important attributes for short form lining systems and we are able to offer performance guarantees and warranties upon request.
ITS Trenchless is the industry leader in providing point-lining for repair of sewer, stormwater and industrial pipelines in Australia. ITS Trenchless’ Point-Liner® system is a long standing and time tested localised pipeline repair product for gravity pipelines in diameters ranging from 80mm up to 1200mm.
Full Length CIPP
The full length lining system that ITS Trenchless has committed to is the German made Berolina-Liner System. The liner is tailor-made for the pipeline rehabilitation application with regards to length, diameter and wall thickness. The Berolina-Liner System utilises corrosion resistant glass fibre together with a matrix of UV-light initiated polyester resins to provide optimum reinforcement. The reinforcement in combination with the resin creates a liner with a high performance that is able to withstand aggressive chemical compounds (e.g. acids) commonly found within the sewerage environment.
The footprint for installation is quite small. Briefly, the installation process involves winching into the host pipe a preliner through, for example, a manhole, which is gradually inflated with compressed air until fully expanded. At this point a UV light train is pulled through at a controlled speed, curing the pipe as it travels. The liner is cured in place thereby sealing the pipe against leakage. By using UV light the consumption of energy during curing phases is significantly lower compared with traditional curing systems e.g. hot water or steam. This is not only an important cost consideration but also a significant environmental consideration particularly with regard to CO2 emissions.
