ITS completes largest swagelining project in Australia!

Posted on by admin

What David Jaensch, Adelaide Assets Manager for SA Water said about this project.

“SA Water successfully developed the “Muller & Regency trunk water main renewal project” under an Early Contractor Involvement, ECI with specialist lining contractor ITS Trenchless and civil contractor BJ Jarrad. The close-fit lining of this 4.83km Trunk WM, (1920 MSCS – DN 600 Double Locking Bar) was efficiently completed in November 2010 and promoted a strong partnering model for future asset renewals.

This innovative renewal method was a “national” first for this size water main with insertion lengths up to 600m at a time.  In addition, it was also a “world” first for the close-fit lining of PN16 trunk water main through bends greater than 10 degrees, (associated with the Hampstead Rd intersection).

It was particularly pleasing to complete the project with a  “lessons learnt” workshop with ITS Trenchless, BJ Jarrad, United Water and SA Water to review the project achievements and opportunities/benefits in the future asset management renewal of trunk water mains and  associated ancillaries.

Congratulations are extended to the project team for the achievement of this technically challenging and innovative project and particularly the well coordinated stakeholder relations interfaces.”
