Innovation in Water Rehabilitation

Two technologies that are starting to make a significant impact on water main rehabilitation are in situ spray lining and swagelining.

In 2008, ITS has successfully completed trials with Wingecarribee Shire Council, SA Water and Sydney Water with interest growing with other water authorities. In 2009 it is envisaged that spray lining will become a more commonly used rehabilitation tool for water asset managers.

In a similar fashion, swagelining has started becoming more readily considered for trunk water main rehabilitation with an increase in the number of projects that ITS has or is in the process of completing.
